Renewably Powered Drones.
Clean, Green Drones.
100% renewable flight might seem like a distant dream, but for drone pilots, the future is here today.
In Ireland and in many other countries around the world, the percentage of renewable energy in the electricity mix varies widely. This means those drone pilots out there who want to charge their drones when the electricity is greenest can use tools such as EnergyElephant's smart energy traffic light to help charge their drone when the energy is cleanest.
As an example, a drone owner who charges their drone overnight in Ireland this Wednesday (21st December 2016) will be putting over 50% renewable energy into their drone, versus the drone owner who charges their drone overnight in Ireland this Tuesday night when the renewable rate will be less than 10%.
Live data can be found here: https://energyelephant.com/page-traffic-light
This shows how important it is for drone users to plan the charging of their drones to minimise their environmental impact and help promote clean, green energy. Who knows, in the future maybe all aircraft will be as clean and green as todays drones.
