You will primarily work on, and guide development of, our back end data processing which is at the core of our business but all of our team members are encouraged to work on the full product range. You will also liaise with our support, sales & marketing teams on product feedback, sales questions and requests from the market. 👷🏾 What you'll be doing

Your responsibilities will include inter alia:

  • Ensuring our backend data processing systems can handle all the data that our customers want to process. This data processing is all done in Python. This covers both fixing data processing bugs, and expanding the range of data and file types our system can handle.
  • Working on data capture automation, also done in Python, to make it as easy as possible for customers to add data to the EnergyElephant platform.
  • Working on our platform, both Webpages & API as we build out increasingly sophisticated functionality.
  • Platform design, documentation & architecture review to keep us on a sensible technology trajectory.
  • Talking to customers to understand existing and prospective customers’ challenges, business models, and success metrics.
  • Monthly Product Team in person meetings and mentoring more junior engineers as our team grows.

👍 Required Experience

  • Several years of experience (minimum of three years full time) working as a software developer. This is a senior role not suitable for recent graduates.
  • Backend Experience with Python.
  • Frontend Experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS.
  • Some general knowledge and a keen interest in sustainability technologies.
  • Very strong communication skills across verbal and written mediums.

🌈 Nice-To-Have Experience

  • Backend Experience with Django, Postgres, AWS.
  • Experience in a start-up/early stage business environment.
  • Experience training, working with (and possibly hiring) new developers in a team.
  • Background knowledge of technology and platform solutions in the energy/climate software-as-a-service (SaaS) space.
  • Competitive team player with a passion for problem solving and helping customers get to success.
